Nine screen debuts by masters of cinema have been hailed across decades and include works that illuminate the intellectual, cultural and emotional dynamics between the East and the West. The selected films include Werner Herzog’s “Signs of Life” (1968), Dennis Hopper’s “Easy Rider” (1969), Theo Angelopoulos’ “Reconstruction” (1970), Krzysztof Kieslowski’s “The Scar” (1976) and Hugh Hudson’s “Chariots of Fire” (1981).
